Synopsis

Originally released in September of 1991 to a frenzy of critical praise, Nirvana's Nevermind rose within a few months to the No. 1 slot on Billboard's U.S. sales chart. The album was then propelled to No. 1 across the globe by devoted young fans worldwide, identifying with the defiant fervour of the band and embracing their unruly anthem "Smells Like Teen Spirit" with its landmark music video. The album defined the grunge genre, challenging the foundations of rock music, hammering an indelible mark on the popular culture of a generation. Since then, it has sold more than 30 million albums.

Newly released in September 2011, the Deluxe 4LP Heavy Weight 180g Vinyl Set includes the remastered original album and previously unreleased recordings and rarities, including the Smart Sessions (Demo Recordings made after their debut album Bleach before signing to DGC Records) and rehearsals recorded on a boombox /ghetto blaster, plus b-sides, BBC radio appearances, alternative mixes from Devonshire Studios, and rare live recordings.
